Class 7 visits the School Eco Park

Spending time amidst nature is an elevating and enlivening experience for each one of us, young and old. To give a taste of this, an excursion to the School eco park was undertaken for students of class 7 on 11 January 2019. 42 students accompanied by their teachers, Ms. Ayesha, Mr. Sushant and Mr. Suraj spent an enriching crisp winter morning touring the park.

The children walked about the science section at the eco park. The life-sized models that gave a hands-on experience of the basic principles of science were captivating. They learned in an entertaining way as they enjoyed the distorted and comic images that stared back at them in the Reflecting Mirrors! The curiosity knew no bounds when it came to the models of DNA and Third Order Lever. The children excitedly attempted the Double Ended Cone and listened to the peel of the musical tubes as they filled the surrounding air with their lilting shrill notes.

Next, the group was ushered to the plantation area. Rows of luxuriant winter vegetables made for a delightful spectacle for our city children who squealed in delight to spot the ripe carrot, cabbage, radish, and sweet potato peeking out of the leafy overgrowth! The young visitors were guided on how to pick the ready produce. In great excitement, the children picked the ready produce and filled their bags, brought along from home for this very purpose!

Thereafter, the triumphant and tired children relaxed and played volleyball in the sun under the watchful care of Mr. Suraj, sports teacher.

All too soon it was time to bid adieu to the farm and fresh air. The happy faces settled in the bus amidst bags laden with fresh veggies and magical memories of an unforgettable day spent outdoors.
