On 22nd October 2016, a group of students from our School attended a concert at the Kamani Auditorium. The concert organised by the Sahitya Kala Parishad, was a part of the Delhi Classical Music Festival that aims to preserve and promote Hindustani Classical Music.

The concert began with a beautiful recital on the santoor by Pandit Satish Vyas. He performed two ragas; Raga Jhinjhoti and Raga Charukeshi. He was accompanied on the tabla by Pandit Shubhankar Banerjee.

This was followed by the much awaited vocal recital by maestro Ustad Rashid Khan, the torch bearer of the Rampur Sahaswan gharana. He is the grandson and disciple of legendary singer Ustad Nisar Hussain Khan. He was accompanied by Pandit Shubhankar Banerjee on the tabla, Ms. Paromita Mukherjee on the harmonium and Murad Ali on the sarangi.
