Honours at BATTLE OF TITANS - Inter school Computing Symposium 2016

Computer and information have, without a doubt, changed the world. To ensure that the youth remain on the cutting edge of technological advancement, Mayoor School, Noida organised its annual inter-school computing symposium, the Battle of Titans 2016 on 25th and 26th October, 2016.

The following events were a part of the symposium. Digital Imaging: Pratham Gulati (XI) and Abhishek Raj (XII) participated in this event. The software provided to make a composition was Adobe Photoshop CS6. Participants were judged on the basis of creativity, colour combination, aesthetic sense, originality and overall presentation. The duration of the event was one hour.

Surprize: Sukrit Gupta (XI) and Manav Arora (XI) participated in this surprise event where they were awarded the 2nd prize. Several clues were hidden around the campus and had to be found out and resolved to be able proceed to the next round. Three of twenty teams qualified for the finals over a course of four rounds.

Power point Presentation: The topic was Is the Internet producing copy cats? Participants were judged on the basis of content, relevance of the topic and overall presentation. Maanya Arora (V) and Anthariksh Nair (V) participated in this event and were awarded the 1st prize.

by : Arjun Pasricha (X) and Ayushi Verma (X) participated in this HTML 5 event where the topic and pictures were given on the spot. Participants were judged on the basis of content, creativity and correct use of code. The time allotted was one hour.

Junior Quiz: Udit Sanghi (VIII) and Arya Khanna (VIII) participated in this tech quiz event. Six teams qualified in the preliminary round and were able to compete in the finals on stage. Questions in the quiz were based on general awareness, graphic software packages, Boolean algebra, networking and the history of computers.

Group Discussion: Saumya Saxena (XI) participated in the group discussion. Participants were judged the basis of active participation and relevance of points put across.

Music Mixing: Akarsh Ahuja (X) and Karandeep Kapoor (XI) participated in this event. The software provided to create a song was FL Studio Version 12.0.1.

Still Photography: Vatsala Banerjee (XI) participated in this event. The photographs were taken in the school premises.

Code Whizz: Anchit Thakur (XII) and Devanshu Panwar (XII) went for the written test where they had to guess the probable output of the programme.

Gaming: Pulkit Goyal (XII) and Karan Sidu (XI) participated in this gaming event which included a PC round.

Senior Quiz: Rhythm Narang (XI) and Nikhil Rana (XI) participated in this tech quiz event. Six teams qualified for the finals on stage after a written preliminary round. The quiz was based on questions relating to general awareness, networking techniques, artificial intelligence and biometrics along with an AV round.
