Honours at 'JAPAN ON CANVAS 2016'- A national painting competition
The Japanese Foundation in Delhi hosted 'Japan on Canvas 2016' in October. The competition was open to participants from across the country and its purpose was to motivate students to explore Japan and thereafter, spread awareness about Japanese culture and its traditions amongst Indian students.
For the contest, students were required to create visuals of Japan and its culture on canvas. These were then sent by speed post to the Japan Foundation. 55 entries were sent from our School. There were two categories; Category 1 catered to children between 8-10 years wherein they had to submit art relating to Festivals of Japan. Category 2 was for children between 11-15 years and their subject was Japan-India Friendship.
