Honours at National Psycholympiad Series
Psychology is a rapidly emerging 21st century applied discipline involving the scientific study of mind functions and behaviours. The more we explore, the more we learn. To learn more and get a hands'- on experience, a group of students from classes 11 and 12 participated in a National Psycholympiad Series, conducted by Expressions India. The series was planned in two parts, one on 22nd August 2016 and the other on 6th October 2016 at the National Science Centre, Pragati Maidan.
The first part, held on 22nd August 2016 consisted of a Poster Exhibition, the topic of which was Psychology/Mental Health as a Career - Exploring Newer Frontiers of the Mind, a National Psyquizard, thematic on- the- spot painting and brainstorming with the legends, as it were, of the subject.
The second part, held on 6th October 2016, included Extempore Speech for which the themes related to contemporary mental health concerns. This was followed by role play presented by students from various schools. The theme given to them related to issues faced by a child suffering mentally and how he seeks help but receives none. Rishabh Bhatia of class 11, from our School participated in this and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
Our students enthusiastically participated in all the events. The participants were Rishabh Bhatia, Shivali Anand, Artika Bansal, Aayushi Gaur, Aayushi Sharma, Aayushi Mittal and Ritwik Arora.
Rishabh Bhatia of class 11 and Shivali Anand of class 12 were awarded the meritorious achievement award in the poster exhibition. Shivali Anand also won the special jury award for extempore speech.
