Independence Day Quiz in Pre primary.

To commemorate our 70th Independence Day the pre -primary department conducted a quiz on 29th August 2016 in the auditorium. A quiz is an interactive way of generating an interest and curiosity amongst our little children. This time it was based on the rich culture and heritage of both our country and of Africa.

As a build-up to the quiz, the children in each class were asked to share one unique feature about our country with their classmates. Next, in a preliminary selection round, all the classes were divided into groups based on the four houses, Chandra, Indra, Surya and Varun. Through a question/ answer round, the teachers identified the children who were able to answer most of the questions from each group and shortlisted them for the final round.

The preparation for the final round involved arming the little participants with facts about India and Africa.

Finally on the day of the quiz, five rounds were conducted on various aspects as follows.

Round I focused on the significance of the national flag. Round II focused on leadership. Round III and IV focused on eminent personalities, flora, fauna and national symbols.

The quiz concluded with Round V which involved recognising some of our most popular patriotic songs.

The finalists exhibited immense confidence while answering the questions. They were very animated and the teams vied closely with each other to answer the questions passed over and many even managed to grab bonus points!
