Special Assembly in Pre primary

On Friday 8th July 2016, the pre-primary department put together yet another educational cum fun assembly where the letter ch was introduced to our little ones in an entertaining manner. The children first viewed a smart board video to build a familiarity with words that start with the sound 'ch. Relating new ideas to a context is another powerful way of learning. So, a special chana chat stall was set up in the auditorium to give children a glimpse of how this delicious preparation is assembled and also a taste of it! On the way the sound ' ch' repeatedly returned! The teachers while mixing the chana before their little audience, reiterated a variety of similar sounding words starting with ch- chaku, chat masala, chammach, chulah etc. led the children to identify better with these words and soon some of them were adding their own! This was followed by a musical Hindi rhyme Chaar Chane that many in the audience were heard clapping along with. It went as follows.

Chaar - Chane Paisa paas hota toh , chaar-chane laatein chaar Paisa mein se ek chana, tote ko khilate tote ko khilate toh , tai-tai gaata tai-tai gaata , toh bada maza aata...... Paisa paas hota , toh chaar-chane laatein chaar mein se ek chana ,ghodhe ko khilate ghode ko khilate , toh peeth par bithata peeth par bithata ,toh bada maza aata..... Paisa paas hota , toh chaar chane laatein chaar mein se ek chana choohe ko khilate choohe ko khilate toh , daanth toot jaata daanth toot jata , toh bada maza aata..... It was yet another happy exercise of edutainment.
