Spring Excursion to Sunder Nursery for Pre school
On 5 February 2026, the Pre school children of The Indian School went on a delightful excursion to Sunder Nursery, accompanied by their teachers. The visit was filled with joy, exploration and meaningful learning experiences in the lap of nature.
Upon arrival, the children settled down on the soft green lawn near a serene pond with a beautiful fountain. They sat together, enjoyed their tiffins and admired the peaceful surroundings, making the moment feel special and refreshing.
The little learners enthusiastically participated in a variety of activities planned for them. They enjoyed a free play session where they ran around in the open spaces, played on the swings, and spent cheerful moments playing simple games with their teachers and friends. The children also took part in a colouring activity, where they expressed their creativity by drawing and colouring what they observed around them, such as the flowers, trees and birds.
As it was the season of spring, the children noticed the vibrant blossoms and lush greenery all around, which sparked their curiosity and sense of wonder. Such educational trips help young children learn beyond the classroom by encouraging observation, creativity, social interaction and an early appreciation for nature and the environment.
During their visit, the children also observed the historical monuments located within Sunder Nursery. These monuments belong to Mughal times and reflect India’s rich cultural heritage. Their grand domes, arches, and red sandstone structures helped the children understand that history can be learned from old buildings of those times. The monuments are important as they connect us to the past and teach us about ancient architecture and craftsmanship. They also highlight the importance of conserving heritage sites for future generations. Seeing these historic structures alongside nature made the learning experience even more meaningful and inspiring for the young learners.
The excursion was a memorable and enriching experience for the preschoolers. They returned to School with happy hearts, new learnings and beautiful memories of a day filled with fun, creativity and connection with nature.
