Our School hostedthe Zonal Basketball Championship for the 2nd consecutiveyear on our School courts from23to 25Augustt2012.Speed, AgilityandEndurancewere generously on display. All the participating teams arrived pitching to win. The spirits were bouyant yet reined to capture and carry home! 35 matches were played over 3 days. All the 6 finals had to be rescheduled for1Septemberdue to heavy rain although the wait only addedintensity to the game; several of the contests ending in nail- biting finish. 12 schools that participated from our zone were Air ForceBalBharti, Father Agnel School, The Banyan Tree, Delhi Public School, Oxford School, etc.The highlight of the tournament was the seniorboyssemi-final match between Delhi Public School and The Indian School. The players were tightly tied against each other and neither side was getting to break past. Naturally the audience was on tenter-hooks. Until the final moments when, DPS with better preserved presence, as it were, grabbed a very narrow gap to take the title.
