A awareness workshop on Good House-Keeping at School for teachers
Cleanliness is the cornerstone of discipline. A healthy mind resides in a healthy body and a healthy body require a healthy ambience.
We at our end, at School try to inculcate an instinct of cleanliness among our students through fun exercises from time to time like a campus- cleaning drive and recently even acquiring shoe- cleaning/ polishing machine so that the children make a habit of rubbing the dirt off their shoes when they enter the building etc.
On 4 April, 2014 another initiative was taken towards this direction by organising a workshop on Housekeeping for teachers by Ms. Anju Panwar. She is a experienced hospitality professional and presently heading the housekeeping department at Fortis Hospital, Noida.

Ms. Panwar introduced us to all the diverse components of good housekeeping which do not just include traditional waste disposal but also Horticulture and Floriculture. She opened our minds to the several delicate facets involved in a robust cleaning process of a living space. We were familiarised with the latest equipment available to aid our initiative. She also organised a live demonstration in the pre-primary area and the result was commendable.
This workshop was a first step towards what Rabbi Phineas ben Yair gave mankind, many centuries back, that "Cleanliness is next to Godliness"! Commonly it is often conveniently interpreted as Godliness generates cleanliness!
Cleaning and cleansing are basic to any embodiment. Unless you cleanse where's the space to assimilate anything new?
