A prayer for well-being by Pre school on Ganesh Chaturthi
On September 6, our Pre schoolers enthusiastically celebrated Ganesh Chaturthi with the story of Lord Ganesha, the God of well being.
The festivities began with a special assembly, where our teachers warmly welcomed the students and introduced the significance of the occasion. The school puppet theatre was nicely decorated, adding to the festive ambience. A heartwarming story, "The Little Clay Ganesha" by Sudha Murthy, was then narrated through a role-play wherein a young boy, Vinay eagerly awaits Ganesh Chaturthi. He learns how to sculpt an ecofriendly Ganesha with clay and interacts with Him, sharing his experiences.
A modak- making activity was incorporated in the story wherein the children learnt to make modaks using desiccated coconut, condensed milk and powdered sugar. The value of shared effort and sharing per se, was ' sweetly' conveyed with this group activity.
Our young artists then showcased their creativity by crafting a beautiful Ganesha using origami sheets, integrating math concepts into the art project. The craft demonstrated how various shapes can come together to form a meaningful and beautiful creation, enhancing the children's fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, while learning about shapes in an engaging way.
The event concluded with a heartfelt invocation to Lord Ganesha, seeking His blessings for the well being of everything around us.
