An ecology lesson on Ganesh Chaturthi for Pre primary
Ganesh Chaturthi is observed with much fervour across India. On 13th September, 2018 the students of Pre-Primary Merak held a special assembly on the occasion. Lord Ganesha or the elephant deity is considered as the God of wisdom and new beginnings. Thus, people across the world worship Him before initiating any work. It is believed that He removes obstacles and blesses the course of the believer.
An eco-friendly Ganesha handcrafted by children and their teachers was carried aloft in a procession through the corridors of School, accompanied by the children dressed in ethnic costume accompanied by their teachers. Drum beats and bells clanged vigorously to shouts of Ganpati Bappa Morya as the young colourfully clad devotees matched step with song.

The children later symbolically immersed a small single clay Ganesh in a small makeshift pool of water. It was their way of observing the tradition albeit with an eye to conserving Mother Nature too.
The Special Assembly commenced with a melodious invocation, the Ganesh Vandana by the children. They then spoke by turn on stage about the festival. They also presented a tale named World around the Parentswhere Ganesha demonstrates his wit and unconditional love for his parents, Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati.
At the end our young Indianites vigorously demonstrated the Lezium, the famous folk dance of Maharashtra.
