Annual Skill Convergence Fête by class 8

On 28th October 2024, class 8 conducted the annual Skill Convergence Fête, a part of our School Citizenship Programme, and supported by the Mathematics Department. The venue was the basketball court. This initiative aims to equip students with essential entrepreneurial and financial literacy skills, integrating these into their mathematics curriculum. Beyond skill development, the event is a fundraiser, with proceeds going to NGOs that support underprivileged communities, including Palna, Goonj, and the Earth Saviours' Foundation etc.

The prime focus of the event is to enhance students' understanding of entrepreneurship and financial management. Along with that, it is aimed to provide a hands'-on experience of organising and managing a large-scale event. Not to the miss, the intention to raise funds to support charities working for the less fortunate in our society.
 

The fête transformed the school basketball court into a vibrant marketplace, bustling with excitement. Various stalls, managed entirely by students, offered visitors a range of fun-filled activities and attractions, including the following.

Food Court: Delicious snacks and refreshments, prepared and served by students, were enjoyed by all. From homemade treats to refreshing drinks, the food court was a popular spot through the day.

Games: Engaging games like Ring Toss, Balloon Darts, and Mystery Boxes entertained visitors, giving them a chance to win small prizes and enjoy some friendly competition.

Handicrafts: Students showcased their creativity with handmade crafts, including keychains, bookmarks, and painted pots. Each item was uniquely crafted, reflecting the hard work and artistic skills of the students.

Lucky Draw: One of the major attractions was the Lucky Draw, which attracted a large number of participants hoping to win exciting prizes.

The Skill Convergence Fête was a resounding success. Through the collaborative efforts of the students, ie., shramdaan, the event raised money for charity. In addition to raising fund, the event offered invaluable learning experiences for the students. They developed skills in budgeting, marketing, teamwork, and customer service, all of which are crucial for real-world success.

The Skill Convergence Fête served as a fantastic opportunity for the students to apply their academic knowledge in a practical setting while contributing to a noble cause. The success of the event was a testament to their dedication, hard work, and commitment to social responsibility.
