Career Counselling sessions by experts for classes 10-12
The Indian School organised a series of career counselling workshops on 24th and 25th July 2024 by Jitin Chawla’s Centre for Career Development. These workshops were designed to assist students of classes X, XI and XII in navigating the complexities of career planning and profile enhancement.
On 24 July 20024, a Profile Building Workshop was held for the students of class X from 9:30 am to 10:30 am. The workshop was led by Ms Aashana Kapoor, a Senior Counsellor, and Ms Bhawini Vasudeva, a Profile Building Mentor. The session aimed to prepare students for internships, building resumes, enhancing interview techniques, engaging in community activities, and participating in events. Additionally, it covered research methodologies, effective writing, and creative exploration to help students develop a comprehensive academic and extracurricular profile.
A workshop for the students of class XI was held from 11am to noon on the same day, featuring the same experts. It emphasised on CV-building for internships, crafting resumes, selecting courses and programmes and application tips. It also included guidance on choosing topics for research papers, which are crucial for academic success.
On 25 July 2024, a session on New Age Careers was held for the students of class XI from 9:30 am to 11am. This session was led by Mr Jitin Chawla, Director of the Centre. The workshop explored emerging career opportunities in fields such as Biotechnology, Fintech, Generative Pre-trained Transformer (GPT), and Artificial Intelligence. It also provided tips and resources for mastering entrance exams, essential for gaining admission to competitive programmes.
Later that day, from 11:15 am to 12:45 pm, a University Analysis session was conducted for the students of class XII by Mr Jitin Chawla and Mr Tarun Goswami, senior consultant. This workshop aimed to offer a comprehensive analysis of new-age universities, innovative institutions, prestigious programmes, and their admission criteria. It aimed to equip students with the necessary knowledge to make informed decisions about their higher education paths.
These workshops provided students with valuable insights into future career prospects, expert advice on career planning, and essential skills for entrance exams and academic decision-making. The sessions were highly informative, laying a strong foundation for the students' future success.
