On the first day of the workshop, a discussion was held on mind maps and the various aids to facilitate teaching and learning of political science. The session stressed on the importance of developing critical thinking skills among the students, as well as, on Blooms Taxonomy and its significance in making of lesson plans and question papers . The participating teachers were assigned the task of preparing questions for assessment, from a chapter, based on Blooms Taxonomy.
On the second day, participants engaged in an animated discussion on the various strategies related to the teaching of political science. The participants were organised into groups and tasked to prepare a lesson plan. Each group was given a question paper for the purpose. Thereafter, the groups presented their lesson plans which provided those present with several innovative ways of teaching the various topics.
The workshop was found to be a great learning platform to explore the new teaching methodologies and strategies.
