FOR THE THINGS WE HAVE TO LEARN BEFORE WE CAN DO THEM, WE LEARN BY DOING THEM Aristotle.

A CBSE workshop, Learning Outcomes and Pedagogies was held at Amity International School Saket, on 13 April 2023. It was attended by 25 teachers from Delhi and NCR.

The workshop focused on Competency- based Education, thereby motivating students to become lifelong learners, equipped with knowledge, competence, and skills. Ms Chhibber emphasised that lesson plans developed by faculty members must have clarity in general and specific objectives, along with the various methodologies, teaching aids and learning styles, to enable students to learn successfully and fruitfully. She also stressed on the teaching-learning cycle.

She highlighted the difference between learning outcomes and learning objectives which were as follows.

> Lesson plans should be submitted before the lesson.

> The objectives of the lesson should be clearly stated.

> Quality is more important than quantity.

> Plans should be followed and not just be put on paper.

> Limit direct instructions. Show then Tell.

> Questions should be framed based on Blooms Taxonomy.

Resource person, Ms Vandana Banga, Master Trainer, discussed the salient features of Blooms Taxonomy in education, its objectives and outcomes. This was followed with an activity-based learning experience for all the participants. She motivated the participants to actively participate and share their views and experiences.

Ms Banga stressed upon identifying the domain and cognitive levels of educational outcomes. She conducted an activity where she asked participants to rate the domain and cognitive levels of educational outcomes.

The objective of the workshop was to enhance the skill of preparing a lesson plan, including all its essential elements.

In conclusion, the resource persons analysed the importance of the implementation of learning outcomes and its importance in the day-to-day teaching learning process.

Overall, the workshop was extremely interactive, informative, and interesting.
