CBSE Workshop on CCE at our School, 27 March 2012
A workshop on CCE was conducted by Dr. Sadhna Parasher, Director, Training, CBSE on 27 March, 2012. She is responsible for co-ordinating innovative reforms such as the implementation of CCE, the Monitoring and Mentoring Scheme, the Strategic Leadership Development Programme etc.
Dr. Parasher began the session by addressing concerns of the teachers about the new system of evaluation. She clarified their doubts and responded to questions raised by them on assessment and teaching methodology.
She explained that FAs should be based on activities conducted in the classroom by the teacher to reduce stress amongst the students. She emphasised the importance of language for the acquisition of knowledge and for the thinking process generally. The parameters of grading and assessment were clarified further for the teachers. Developing the rubrics for every task was also stressed. It was suggested that teachers sit together to plan projects and activities, as teaching in isolation does not yield the optimal result.
She elaborated on reforms which will further be introduced in the curriculum soon. She ended the session by involving the teachers in an activity in which they had to choose value skills which they thought were most appropriate.
The workshop was an robust refresher for the teachers on the assimilation of CCE.
