Childrens Day Celebrations and Special Assembly on Diwali

As a tribute to ' Chacha Nehru and his love for children, the primary section celebrated Childrens Day on Friday, 6th November 2015. Activities were organised to cater to amuse and entertain the children on the occasion. The teachers came dressed as the 'children and regaled our little ones with a variety of delightful performances.The show started with a heart-warming song from ' Taare Zameen Par'. This was followed by a role play where teachers did a rib-tickling skit on The Importance of Green Vegetables. It was amusing to see the teachers play the roles of vegetables! Teachers also presented a group dance to popular numbers like Chak Dhoom Dhoom and Bajrangi Bhaijaan. The little ones were ecstatic to spot their teachers emerge from the classroom and take on these unusual roles. Their constant cheering prompted the teachers to put forward their best!

The Childrens Day celebration was followed by a Special Assembly on Diwali presented by classes VC and D. It started with a message on the importance of the festival. The children then presented a medley of songs appropriate to the occasion. Some of these were Jagmag Deep and Ram Bade Balwan The . The children recited a special poem Ayi Diwali Ayi Diwali composed by two of the children, Parth Sehra and Prakrit Pandey of class VC. A skit which highlighted the adverse effects of burning crackers was also presented. It entreated everyone to celebrate Diwali with decorations, prayers, gifts, sweets and the lighting of diyas and candles, rather than by money wasted on crackers. The children had also prepared an assortment of beautiful diyas and candles for display on the occasion.

After the show, the following students received certificates for their performances at several events in the recent weeks.
