Class 1 on a Spring excursion to Lodhi Gardens
To celebrate the arrival of spring, School organised an educational trip to Lodhi Gardens, on 19 February 2025 for 169 students of class 1. The students, accompanied by their teachers, Ms Jagriti Kapoor, Ms Shikha Sharma, Ms Taranjot Kaur Bhatia, Ms Ritika Bidhuri, Ms Rashi Mungia, Ms Seema Atal and Mr Shubham Saini, set off for a day of fun and learning. The purpose of the trip was to introduce the young students to the historical monuments at the venue while enjoying the greenery and fresh air at the gardens.
As the children stepped down at Lodhi Gardens, they were greeted by tall trees, colourful flowers, and open green spaces spread across 90 acres. The excitement grew as they saw the majestic tombs and domes standing tall, holding stories from the past.
The students visited Bada Gumbad and Sheesh Gumbad, learning about their history and architecture. Since they had seen a PowerPoint presentation on Delhi’s medieval monuments before the trip, they could now identify the arches, domes etc.
Walking through the gardens, the children spotted various plants, fruit trees, and blooming flowers. They joyfully named the ones they knew, while the teachers shared interesting facts about seasonal plants and their importance.
One of the most exciting moments was spotting birds like peacocks, parrots, eagles, and even a black stork. The sound of the chirping of birds added to the peaceful and refreshing atmosphere.
After some exploration, the students settled in a shady, comfortable spot to relax. They all sat down together for a picnic, sharing their food with their friends. Laughter and cheer filled the air as they enjoyed their meal and played happily.
When it was time to leave, many students were reluctant to leave! The trip was not only exciting but also a great way to connect with nature and history. It helped the young learners appreciate the beauty of the environment and the rich heritage of Delhi.
It was truly a memorable and meaningful experience for everyone!
