Class 3 Visits Qutub Minar
On 13 February 2025, a group of 165 students of class III, accompanied by their teachers, set off on an enriching educational excursion to the majestic Qutub Minar. The trip, thoughtfully aligned with the concept of ‘Edutainment’, was a perfect blend of history, architecture and culture, offering the students not only a deep dive into India's rich heritage, but also a chance to immerse themselves in stories of the past. As they explored this iconic landmark, the students were captivated by the grandeur of the monument and its historical significance, while also enjoying moments of fun and camaraderie with their peers.
A red sandstone structure, the minaret featuring exquisite carvings and inscriptions, reflected architectural brilliance and offered a glimpse into the sophisticated craftsmanship of the era.
The students were particularly drawn to the Iron Pillar, a remarkable engineering feat that has withstood the test of time, remaining rust-free for over 1,600 years. The fact that the pillar has endured several earthquakes without significant corrosion was a topic of awe and deep discussion among the young visitors.
The journey continued through the complex, where the students saw Sanderson’s Sundial. With its finely designed blade, the sundial casts a shadow that shifts with the movement of the sun, marking the passage of time. This ancient timekeeping device piqued the students’ curiosity as they looked eager to understand how such instruments worked.
The excursion was not just an educational experience but an inspiring journey that deepened the students’ appreciation for the historical and scientific wonders of our past. The experience left an indelible mark on their young minds, combining learning with joy in a truly inspiring way.
