Class 4A meets peers in a South Korean school in an online exchange

“The world is just a click away when young minds connect beyond borders.”

In a celebration of global friendship and cultural understanding, the students of class IV-A under the guidance of Ms Rhytham Massey, engaged in a vibrant online cultural exchange with students at  Daegu Yonggye Elementary School, South Korea, led by their teacher, Ms Heejung Choi, on July 23, 2025.

The session opened with warmth and grace as our young Aashirya greeted her Korean peers with a traditional "Namaste," a gesture that beautifully symbolises Indian welcome and respect. Taking pride in their heritage, the students introduced the key symbols of India. Shanzay spoke about the lotus, India's national flower, admired for its purity and elegance, whilst Pritika highlighted the majestic tiger, India’s national animal, representing courage and strength. Jai shared delightful facts about the vibrant peacock, our national bird, known for its grace and colour. Sara passionately described India’s linguistic diversity, reflecting the nation’s cultural richness.

The exchange became even more engaging as Ashneer, Manvik, and Vivaan gave their Korean friends a lively glimpse into daily school life in India, sharing stories of fun classroom moments, extra curricular activities and the celebration of festivals.

Curious and enthusiastic, Yatharth turned the conversation around by asking the Korean students about their school experiences. Responding in equal excitement, the Korean students introduced themselves and spoke about their favourite club activities—from sports and arts to cultural events—offering a peek into their own vibrant school lives.
Though the session was brief—cut short by the Korean students’ lunch break—it was packed with laughter, curiosity, and warmth.

Before signing off, both sides exchanged promises to reconnect soon and continue exploring each other’s worlds in the next session.

This interaction was a heart warming reminder that friendships know no borders. Through technology, respect, and shared stories, the children discovered not just differences, but also the beautiful similarities that unite them as global citizens.

In a world growing smaller with every click, these young ambassadors proved that big friendships can grow across even the widest oceans.
