Class 5 excursion with Jal Itihaas to Jamali Kamali

An educational trip was organised on 22 January 2026 for the students of class 5, based on the theme, ‘Jal Itihaas’, to the Jamali Kamali tombs. The group was accompanied by Ms Shiwangi Tiwari and Ms Shivangi Trivedi. The purpose of the trip was to help students understand the historical significance of water conservation practices followed in historic times.

During the visit, the students were introduced to the Jamali Kamali Baoli. They were informed about the history of Jamali and Kamali and the circumstances surrounding their deaths. The guide also explained the importance of baolis (stepwells) as vital sources of water in the past and highlighted their role in storing and managing water efficiently.

The children were further informed about various other baolis, including those with circular structures, such as the baoli at Firoz Shah Kotla. Through this guidance, the students gained insight into how people in earlier times valued water resources and relied on different water sources to meet their daily needs.

The visit proved to be highly informative and engaging. It helped students develop an appreciation for traditional water management systems and reinforced the importance of water conservation. Overall, the educational trip was a valuable and enriching learning experience for all the students.
