Class 6 interacts to learn story writing at Bookaroo A Festival of Childrens Literature

On 26th November 2016, eight children of class VI visited Bookaroo, a festival of children's literature at the Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts. The children were bubbling with excitement as they headed out!

The children attended two sessions. The first one was by Ms. Lalita Iyer, who gave up a career in journalism to become a writer. She successfully gripped the attention of the young listeners with her fascinating stories, both autobiographical and fictional. She also gave a riveting lesson on how to draw characters from our real lives, making the session both delightful and interactive. Children had a field day creating characters based on peculiar members from their own families!

The second session took the children's imagination to a next level, as it were, as Judith Rossel, illustrator and writer from Australia, taught them tricks to draw an image off a word! It was truly an innovative session and taught the children a great deal.

At the event, the children had the opportunity to interact with outstanding speakers who shared valuable insights into the world of story-telling and writing. The event was a grand success and each student had a chance to learn something novel.
