Class 7 visits the Election Museum
On 16 October, 2024, a group of 100 students of class 7 went on an educational excursion to the Election Museum. The day began with an informative orientation led by tour guides, featuring a video that illustrated India's journey from using electoral ballots to adopting EVMs (Electronic Voting Machines). This introduction set the stage for the excursion ahead.
The Election Education Centre-cum-Museum, showcasing the rich history of India's electoral process, captivated the students with its diverse exhibits. They explored the evolution of democracy through displays of ballot boxes, EVM machines, indelible ink, paper slips, election symbols, and over 120 images and charts. The hands'-on experience sparked curiosity and provided a deeper understanding of the election process.
This excursion served as a valuable lesson in the importance of electoral participation. By engaging in this interactive learning environment, students had the opportunity to absorb, understand, and retain knowledge more effectively, highlighting the benefits of experiential learning.
