It is health that is real wealth and not pieces of gold and silver. Mahatma Gandhi

The Indian School held a workshop for the students of class VIII on the importance of a healthy diet on 28 December 2022. Around 125 students attended the workshop. Dr Rakhi Anand was invited by School to speak and create awareness among the students on the importance of developing healthy eating habits.

The workshop began with an interactive session. Dr Anand asked the students what they like eating and after she gained an insight into their eating habits and patterns, she talked to the students about the significance of consuming nutritious food which is crucial for growth and development. Each one of us must have a balanced diet as a healthy mind and body helps us to lead a happy and meaningful life.

Dr Anand also made the students aware about the amount of water our body needs regularly. According to her, breakfast is like fuel for thenbody and one must not skip it. One must avoid consuming processed food. Apart from talking about different food groups, she also stressed on the importance of meditation, correct posture and physical exercises which are all equally important for the balanced growth of a human being. The students also got to know about the effects of being overweight or obese.
