Class assembly- 'Ideal Indian'

The students of class IV C presented a skit that depicted their vision of The Ideal Indian, during their special assembly on 5th February 2016. The assembly began with a discussion amongst a group of students on the stage, debating on what qualities are required to considered an ideal Indian. They tried to visualise somebody who fits the qualities being discussed. After much deliberation, they came to conclude that the one person who best suits is, the Late Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, 11th President of India.

A skit proceeded to recreate incidents from the life of the late President that show him as an ideal Indian. Between the scenes, an account of the major events from the President's life, such as when he was born in a village in Tamil Nadu, the completion of his degree in aerospace technology, his contribution to the space programme, the Defence Research Development Organisation and the Indian Space Research Organisation, his election as 11th President of India and his demise in 2015 were narrated. The President known for his upright nature, simple life style and the that he was the recipient of various national awards including the Bharat Ratna were reiterated. Memorable quotes of Dr. Kalam were read aloud and some of his famous books were also named. It was very reassuring to watch every child of the class actively participating in the skit. The students in the audience also took a keen interest in the story and remained engaged throughout.
