Class VIII excursion to the School Eco Park
On 6 December 2025, the students of class VIII embarked on an enriching educational excursion to the School Eco Park. The enthusiastic learners spent a day surrounded by greenery and open skies. The tranquil rural landscape, refreshingly distinct from the city’s polluted environment, offered an inspiring backdrop for experiential learning beyond the confines of the classroom.
The students explored the working models installed at the park, including demonstrations of angular momentum, Newton’s Disc and a crystalline model of sodium chloride. These visual representations enabled students to grasp abstract scientific principles with greater conceptual clarity and analytical depth.
Under the guidance of their science teacher, they also participated in a hands'-on pH scale activity, which enhanced their understanding of environmental chemistry and highlighted the critical role of acidity and alkalinity in ecological balance.
Beyond scientific inquiry, the students experienced the joy of hand-picking vegetables. This immersive activity provided first-hand insight into agricultural practices and reinforced the importance of sustainable farming methods. Engaging directly with the soil and crops encouraged thoughtful reflection on food production, resource management and the dedication required in cultivation.
The excursion seamlessly integrated academic rigour with meaningful real-world engagement. It fostered curiosity, strengthened observational and critical-thinking skills and deepened environmental consciousness among the learners. The outing was not only memorable but transformative, broadening perspectives and cultivating a stronger connection with nature and sustainable living.
