Classes 2A and 2D engage with peers at a Warsaw school (Poland)

Class 2 students of The Indian School participated in an activity of Mystery Skype with peers at the Non-Public Primary School Samuel Bogumil Linde in Warsaw on 24 January 2022. The session was brought to fruition by the collaborative efforts of Ms Jaspreet Kaur, Ms Shikha Sharma, class teachers of 2D and 2A respectively, and Polish educator, Ms Marta Zabolicka.

At the interaction, eager participants of the two schools assembled across the screen. The game involved framing clever questions by both sides to accurately guess the country to which the opposite peer group belongs. Answers were to be provided in a yes or no only, as a rule of the game.

Post warm greetings, both sides took turns to ask questions to guess the country of the other side. Anhad offered the first clue by telling the Polish students the name of the capital city of India; Myra shared clues like the national animal and bird, and Piyush even held up the Indian national flag. These clues prompted little Natalia Jankowska to guess the country-India!

Likewise, Tiara and Anhad concluded that their virtual new friends were from Poland based on similar clues provided by the Polish counterparts.

Taking the interaction forward, Naina and Shanaya of class 2D hosted a showcasing of the Republic Day celebrations in India. They made a brief presentation about Republic Day and its significance for all Indians. Hridaan described the tricolour, Advait of class 2A entertained his virtual audience with a patriotic song and Ishmeet danced to the popular 'Nanha Munha Rahi Hoon'.

The finale was a pre-recorded dance video dedicated to all frontline workers of the pandemic and it stirred everyone.

The presentation concluded with the national anthem. The Skype classroom brought the diverse peers close as they appreciated and applauded each other in a cooperative and informative session.

The exuberant Indianites are making their presence felt on the international school scene. Much kudos to them and their teachers!
