Earth Day'25 activities across the classes
'Reuse your today so that you don't have to reduce your tomorrow.'
Our School observed Earth Day on 21 April 21'25, in great enthusiasm and a strong sense of eco-consciousness. The event centred around the theme, “Our Power, Our Planet", emphasising a shared responsibility to protect and preserve Mother Earth.
The celebration began with a motivating address by Principal, Ms Tania Joshi, who encouraged the students to become active stewards of the environment. This was followed by a lively Earth Day song presented by students, filling the atmosphere with new energy and hope. All those present then united in taking the Earth Day Pledge, committing themselves to make environmentally responsible choices.
To further promote awareness about the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), a variety of class-wise activities were conducted during the zero period. These hands'-on activities included a nature walk, ' Best-out-of-waste' creations, material recycling, and a campaign against single-use plastic. Each activity was designed to engage the young minds and instil in them the values of sustainability, conservation, and climate responsibility.
The aim was not just to observe Earth Day, but to educate, inspire, and empower students to take meaningful steps toward a greener future. The event successfully highlighted the importance of collective action in addressing the climate crisis and preserving our planet for future generations.
Highlights of the Day:
Class I students crafted reusable paper bags from old newspaper. Their efforts were complemented by cheerful Earth Day-themed songs, spreading messages of environmental awareness.
Class II brought environmental messages to life through street plays and Earth Day-themed craft, using creative expression to raise awareness. Students also recited poems, emphasising the significance of environmental conservation.
Class III students composed nature collages using natural materials like leaves and twigs, appreciating Earth’s beauty while learning about the importance of recycling and conservation.
Class IV students designed a thoughtful “Pledge Tree”, whose each leaf represented a personal commitment to protect the planet. They also wrote imaginative poems on the theme, “What if Earth could Talk”, reflecting their concern and empathy for nature.
Class V explored renewable energy through a fascinating solar oven demonstration and expressed their ideas through eco-friendly paintings titled "Nature's Palette", using sustainable materials.
Class VI students designed posters on environmental issues, creatively using waste materials like old garments, pencil shavings, sticks and leaves. Their bold use of colours made the posters both informative and visually impactful.
