Educational Visit for class 3 to the National Science Centre

“Science is magic that works.” Kurt Vonnegut

The Indian School organised an excursion to the National Science Centre, Pragati Maidan, for the students of class 3 on 29 August 2024. 157 students minds were accompanied by 7 teachers.

The visit aimed to foster experiential learning and inculcate the joy of 'learning by doing' among the students. The learners viewed various displays such as ‘Water – The Elixir of Life’, ‘The Study of the Indus Valley Civilisation’, ‘The Functioning of the Human Body’, etc. They joined a tour which provided in-depth knowledge about  science in real life.

The students took a round of the science centre where they got acquainted with different facts about science in an innovative way. At the end, the students visited the Fun Science Gallery which caught their attention instantly. It was full of “ hands'-on exhibits” which explained the fundamentals of science.

The students participated in  quizzes, played games based on science and were particularly fascinated by the mirror illusions.

The visit consummated  with an informal discussion among the students and teachers about the centre and its galleries. The visit thus turned out to be successful by fulfilling its aim of imparting scientific knowledge in an interesting way.

The visit to the National Science Centre was an immensely memorable and enriching experience for the students that enhanced their scientific abilities and ignited their curious minds.
