Great communication begins with connection. Oprah Winfrey
On December 9, 2024, class VIII engages in a lively and enriching online session with the students of class VI students and their English teacher, Ms C Ba La at Khanh Thinh Secondary School, Yen Mo- Ninh Binh in Vietnam. The session, which lasted 30 minutes, was a valuable cultural and educational exchange.
The session began with a Mystery Skype activity, where the Vietnamese students posed questions in order to identify the nationality of their peers across the screen! They asked insightful questions such as whether our country is located in Asia, whether it is an island, and its size. Once they correctly identified India, the discussion moved on to the national symbols.
The Vietnamese students enquired about India's national flag, flower and animal, and in return, they introduced their own national symbols. This exchange allowed both groups to deepen their understanding of each other’s cultures and national pride.
Our students had prepared a PowerPoint presentation on prominent Indian mathematicians, which they enthusiastically shared with their counterparts in Vietnam. This presentation highlighted India's rich contribution to the field of mathematics and fostered an appreciation for the subject among the participants.
The session concluded on a cheerful note with a song sung by the students of Khanh Thinh Secondary School. The melodious presentation added a touch of warmth and camaraderie, leaving both sides with smiles and a sense of global friendship.
The interaction was a wonderful opportunity for cross-cultural learning and exchange. It allowed the students from both cultures to broaden their horizons, appreciate diversity, and celebrate shared learning experiences.
