Honours at inter school science fest

A team of fifteen students of The Indian School participated in GPSC Capital, an inter-school science competition organised by Delhi Public School, Gurgaon, on 28 July 2023. The fest aimed to foster scientific interest amongst students and offered an opportunity to share their innovative ideas and digital expertise. The online and onsite events dates were 18 July and 28 July, respectively.

Ms Yogeshwari accompanied the participants to the onsite venue.

Upasana (IX-B) and Ashwini(IX-C) participated in Sapiente, a competition for classes lX-Xll, which involved playing the popular board game, Snakes and Ladders. The players could only roll the dice if the team answered the science question asked of them.

Shamit (XII-C) and Aarush (XI-A) participated in Scienceterpreneur, an event in which science-related innovations by the students were presented to panel of judges. Shamit and Aarush presented their invention, which can help farmers with irrigation, sowing, and monitoring soil health. The event gave a feeling of the famous show Shark Tank!

In the online events, the Indianites participated in 6 events-

Sanjana Thakur of IX A and Dyutikana Sen Gupta of XA participated in the competition, which required them to create a flipbook on indigenous herbs.

Ashwin Awasthy and Shaurya Sharma of XII B participated in the event Chem-ogic, in which they had to create a 2-3 minute video showcasing chemistry-based magic trick(s) and its explanation or application.

Yashvi and Navya of XII B participated in the Art of Science event, where they had to create a short video using the draw-and-explain technique to communicate scientific principles concisely and visually effectively.

Shaurya Fulfagar of class IX C participated in the MS sway, in which the participants had to create a Microsoft sway on the theme of Quality Education.

Aryan Verma (XII C )and Pranay Sadh (XI A) participated in the Chem-pos-tree, wherein they had to design an aesthetically appealing E-poster that resonated with SDG goals.

Aarav Bansal and Ayan Ahmad of class lX E participated in the ATL DigiPro, where they had to create a digital product to address any human-centred problem. They were awarded the Second Position in this competitive event.

Participating in inter-school competitions provides an excellent platform for students to develop critical thinking, public speaking and analytical skills. It boosted their confidence and allowed them to express their opinions and ideas systematically.

Overall, it was a wonderful experience for everyone.
