Inter School Fest Learning Through Churning

On 28th October 2016, students visited the Ahlcon International School, Mayur Vihar for an Inter school fest titled Learning through Churning. There were three teams representing our School in three events, namely - Street Play, T-shirt Designing and Reverse Mural Wall Painting.

In the junior category, participants were to create Floral Art on large sheets in groups. Four students Samiksha, Dakshita, Renisha, Disha of class 7 comprised the team from our School. They created a floral art piece of flowers clustered together with a catchy and vivid background. They further traced the art on a plastic slab with acrylic colours, making for a beautiful creation.

In the senior category, the students were to design T-shirts carrying a message to sensitise people about pollution. Prabhsimran Kaur and Nitya Soni of class 10 innovatively painted a cycle whose pair of wheels symbolised the imbalance created in the ecosystem when pollution envelopes the living world.

Our group of students for the Street Play consisted of students who are a part of the Paigham Dramatics' Society in our School. As they headed to the auditorium, they got to witness some marvellous performances on the topic 'Solution to Pollution'. Every nukkad natak or street play, demonstrated new sides of creativity and enthralling enactment. When it was their turn, our students exhibited the worrisome predicament of Mother Nature in a hilarious manner. In the play, Mother India approaches Brahma, the creator, and expresses her agony. Brahma then summons humans and Mother Nature and the terrorising humans are pitted against each other. It was a well done satire. After the act, the audience were asked to pledge to consider the importance of nature before any act of pollution.

It was an amazing experience for both our artists and actors as it opened doors for broader perspectives and ideas that competitive events like this never fail to arouse.
