Pre school learns the universal values on the occasion of Guru Nank Jayanti

On the auspicious occasion of Guru Nanak Jayanti, the students of The Indian School celebrated the spirit of “Seva” (selfless service) on 4 November 2025. Guided by their teachers, the little ones joyfully took part in simple yet meaningful acts of kindness under the theme: “Little Hands, Big Hearts: Experiencing Seva”.

The day began with a short story introducing Guru Nanak teachings–Kirt Karo (work honestly), Naam Japo (remember God), and Vand Chhako (share with others), to the Pre primary students. The children learnt that “Seva” means serving others, caring for nature and spreading love and gratitude in everyday life.

The students of PS Kokab watered the plants, wiped their leaves, and planted saplings, realising that caring for the environment is service to Mother Earth. The little ones of PS Capella made handmade “Thank You” flowers and badges for the helpers, guards, and gardeners, learning to appreciate every helping hand. The little enthusiasts of PS Delphini joyfully fed grains to the birds and set up bird feeders, discovering the joy of serving all living beings. The students of PS Hercule supported their classmates by sharing materials, helping each other, and spreading smiles. The little ones of PS Agena wore aprons made from old newspapers and helped clean the School lawn, learning that keeping surroundings clean is also an act of service.

The celebration ended with a prayer and the message that true happiness comes from helping others. Our young Indianites beautifully lived Guru Nanak'sà values through their little acts of love and care, proving that even the smallest hands can make a big difference.
