Republic Day Assembly by Pre primary, Gemini.

A nations culture resides in the hearts and in the soul of its people.

Each year Republic Day is marked as an important occasion on the School calendar. This year, Pre primary 'Gemini put up a special assembly on 25th January 2017 in the School auditorium.

Kishika and Adrika, as capable comperes for the event, spoke on the importance of the day and how and why it is observed. This was followed by a dance performance in which the children were attired in the ethnic costumes of the diverse regions and states of India. They danced to the popular song, My name is Madhavi. I am from Alleppey. I speak Malayalam and I am like you The song, along with their attire, spoke volumes about the message our children were trying to convey - unity in diversity.

A group of children dressed as soldiers of the Indian army, spoke on stage about how the soldiers of our country keep the citizens of India safe from both internal and external threat. The children in the audience cheered for these soldiers and returned their salute for their brave and selfless acts.

Another dance to the song Des Rangila by the children in colourful costume kept up the festive spirit.

The Pre primary choir sang patriotic songs, especially prepared for the day, in Hindi and English, before concluding with the national anthem.
