Rolling Trophy at inter school photography competition

On 20 August 2025, the students of The Indian School participated in “Snapshot 5.0”, an inter school competition hosted by Bal Bharati Public School, Noida. The event aimed to inspire creativity, emotional expression, and innovation in the field of photography and visual storytelling. Students from various classes participated in diverse categories that explored the theme of education, technology, and the unspoken emotions of school life.

Hitisha Mehta (Class XI B), Dhriti Kathuria (Class XI C), N. Raunaq Singh (Class XII A), and Navya Malhotra (Class XII A) took part in a thought-provoking category that challenged them to explore and interpret the unspoken emotional undercurrents of school life such as resilience, silent friendships, hope, and conviction. Participants were invited to select a verse from one of several evocative musical pieces, including Rang, Kaun Mera, Roshni by Chaar Diwaari, Vienna by Billy Joel, or Nadaan Parindey by A.R. Rahman. They were encouraged to choose lines that deeply resonated with their personal experiences, extract key words or imagery, and use these as the foundation for a photographic narrative.

The culmination of this artistic endeavour was a 50-second to 1-minute visual presentation, a video that wove together their photographs to portray the essence of the chosen verse. Through this medium, participants brought to life the emotional tapestry of school life, crafting compelling visual stories that spoke volumes without the need for words.

In another category, Nivaan Naswa (Class 7 B) used the technique of Chrono Fusion to depict the timeless journey of education, where the past informs the present, and guides the future in a single powerful frame.

Khwahish Israni (Class 9 C), Siddhi (Class 9 A), Pavani Jakkula (Class 9 C), and Sarah Bagler (Class 10 E), explored the subtle and profound emotions that shape human lives—silent resilience, unseen friendships, quiet hope, or self-doubt. Rather than merely replicating the music videos, they crafted original, deeply personal visual interpretations of selected verses. Through carefully composed imagery and evocative moods, they fostered empathy, introspection, and emotional storytelling, offering a fresh and heartfelt perspective on the themes explored.

Avika Bansal of Class VII C secured the First Position in the photography category on the theme “Global Connectivity: Transforming Education through Technology and Collaboration”. Aaryan Sehgal of Class IX A secured the Third Prize in the category “Reimagining Education through the Lens of Virtual Reality”. Adding to the glory, our School also won the Rolling Trophy for its overall performance in the event.
