Special Assembly on Good Manners, class 1A.
Respect for ourselves guides our morals; respect for others guides our manners
The children entrusted to us are like seeds that need nourishment of values and education. As part of our continuous endeavour to achieve a holistic development of our children a special assembly was conducted on 17 April, 2013 in the school auditorium.
The assembly aimed at sensitizing the children about the importance of good manners. We started with a prayer Om bhurv bhawa swaha which the children chanted in gusto. Later the children of class 1-A performed a play in mime depicting scenes with the moral message of keeping our surroundings clean, the use of a handkerchief while sneezing or coughing, respect for our elders and so on.

The participating children stood in the formation of a 'Tree of Good Manners' which had the different branches inscribed with the golden words of good manners, namely, Sorry, Thank You, Excuse Me, May I ,Please etc. They then sang out a short , self- composed rhyme on each golden word. The children who were in the audience carefully watched the presentation and we believe will have imbibed the habits highlighted.
As told by Ms. Shweta Arora.
