Special Assembly on Rakshabandhan
On 17th August 2016, class I-C presented a special assembly on Rakshabandhan in the Schools auditorium. The assembly began with a welcome note by Rajveer Singh. This was followed by a choral recitation on Rakshabandhan .The children then presented a short skit. Meet Kaur and Snigdha Naug acted as narrators for this skit. The Indian School promotes gender equality and so as per this tradition, both boys and girls were seen tying rakhis on each others wrists during the skit with the promise to always watch over and protect each other. The assembly concluded with a traditional rakhi dance by a group of ten children who were all traditionally dressed. As they moved to the music, they portrayed the ceremonial tying of the thread on each others wrists with extremely graceful movements.

After the programme, a short interaction took place to help re-enforce what the children had witnessed during the assembly. All the children from class 1 C participated in the assembly in some form or the other thus, enabling each child to experience a sense of importance that goes with being on stage.
