Special assembly on Sanskrit Diwas
On 16 August 2024, the School auditorium was abuzz with excitement and cultural reverence as we observed Sanskrit Diwas. The special assembly featured a rich tapestry of performances that highlighted the depth and beauty of the language.
The event began with Simar Arora of class VIII E reciting the Shiva Rudrashtakam. This profound piece, evoking the omnipresence and immeasurable nature of Lord Shiva, set a tone of reverence and awe. Simar's rendition was not only technically proficient but was also delivered with a spiritual grace that deeply resonated with the audience.
Next, Sakshi Saini and Jyotika Chakraborty of class IX E engaged the audience with a captivating Sanskrit storytelling session titled "Kalahasya Dushparinaamah". Using dynamic props, they illustrated the story's core message: the importance of resolving conflicts and maintaining harmony. Their performance was both educational and entertaining, demonstrating the timeless relevance of such messages.
The assembly continued with a song, "Ekatra Gachham: Ekatra Tishtham," presented by students from classes VII and VIII. The song's emphasis on unity and togetherness for a harmonious world was beautifully expressed through their enthusiastic performance. The students’ voices united in this powerful anthem and underscored the importance of collective harmony in today’s world.
The highlight of the assembly was a short play titled "Sita Haran", based on the Ramayana. Mihir Parik, Aryan Singh, Lakshita, Urvashi Saini, Aditya, Sankalp Chaudhary, Nitaay Ahuja, and Kabir Malhotra of class VIII brought the ancient narrative to life with their compelling portrayal of the abduction of Sita. Their ability to convey the drama and emotions of this classic tale was remarkable.
The event concluded with a round of applause for all the participants. Principal Ms Tania Joshi, and Dr Shikha Sharma, HOD Sanskrit, both appreciated the students for their exceptional performances. They commended the students for their fluency in Sanskrit and their commendable presentation skills, acknowledging the effort and dedication that went into making the occasion a success.
Overall, the Sanskrit Diwas assembly was a fitting celebration of our cultural heritage and the Sanskrit language, showcasing the talents and enthusiasm of our students.
