Video conference with Parivartan School, Ghaziabad.
On 6th February 2017, students of class 6 engaged in a video conference with students of class 4 of `Parivartan School on the project: GET SET GO - LEARNING WITH FUN. The interaction was guided by Ms. Minoo Sethi at our end and by Ms. Sangeeta Sharma (Head Administation) at Parivartan School. The interaction was held under the auspices of the Microsoft Showcase School and Innovative Educator Expert Summit 2017.
21st century skills are a set of abilities that students need to develop in order to succeed in this time and age. These include thinking deeply about issues, solving problems creatively, working effectively in teams, communicating clearly and learning ever-changing technologies. Besides this, they also need to be flexible, to take the initiative and to lead where necessary.

To promote collaboration, an important 21st century learning skill, the students of class 6 prepared a lesson plan on Planets in our Solar System for the class 4 students of Parivartan School. The interactive session began with a formal introduction between the teachers and students of both schools. The session then continued with a presentation of information about our Solar System through placards and charts. Interesting and lesser known facts about our Solar System like why Venus is hotter than Mercury, even though Mercury is closer to the Sun, made the students of Parivartan School curious and wanting to know more.
The question and answer exchange that followed saw bursts of enthusiastic volunteers as each side vied with the other to give the correct answer!
The session was a great success with learning across the sides. A truly collaborative effort.
Ms. Minoo Sethi.
