Workshop on changes in Delhi University by Mr Jitin Chawla
On 21 October, 2013 students of classes X, XI and XII got the opportunity to interact with Mr. Jitin Chawla on the various changes introduced in the Delhi University curriculum.
Mr. Jitin Chawla is an eminent educationist and career counsellor. Currently, he is Director at the Centre for Career Development, which does Aptitude- Testing, Career Workshops, Career Fairs, Career Resource Centres and conducts workshops for students, teachers and parents.
The workshop began with an elaboration upon the new and exciting subjects on offer at the undergraduate level in the new Four Year Undergraduate Program (FYUP). He also assured us that with the implementation of the new scheme, and innovative new courses like. B.Tech ( Humanities) and B. Tech ( Musicology), a student with average aggregates will too have opportunities to study at DU.

Thereafter, the students were quizzed by Mr. Chawla. He asked them questions ranging from quantitative to qualitative aptitude. He gave the students an idea of the level of vocabulary they might encounter in entrance exams for universities in India as well as ones outside the country. He also talked about the importance of General Awareness for students who appear for college interviews.
The workshop also had a representative from Career Launcher who briefed us on how to crack the innumerable entrance exams a student has to give to get into a college of choice.
The workshop was concluded at the end of a question-answer session with Mr. Chawla sharing his knowledge on a variety of fields ranging from drama and theatrics to law and politics.
It was an enriching experience, and students benefited greatly from the greater awareness about the numerous career options they may pursue after class XII.
