Workshop on Puberty for the girls of Middle School

A workshop on “Period Positive” was conducted in the School auditorium for the girls of classes VI, VII, and VIII on 4 November 2025. The session aimed to help young girls understand the physical and emotional changes that accompany growing up and to guide them in embracing menstruation with confidence and positivity.

The workshop created a warm and welcoming environment where students felt comfortable to listen, learn, and share openly. The facilitators spoke about the importance of maintaining personal hygiene, discussed the changes that occur during puberty, and highlighted healthy practices every girl should follow.

To make the session more engaging and relatable, a short educational video was shown. It explained the menstrual cycle in a simple and reassuring manner, helping students feel more at ease with the topic. The visual presentation not only dispelled misconceptions but also encouraged the girls to view menstruation as a natural and healthy process — something to be understood and respected, not hidden or feared.

The session concluded with valuable inputs by Vice Principal, Dr Anu Singh with an interactive question-and-answer round, during which students expressed their thoughts and clarified their doubts with confidence. The facilitators addressed each query with patience and clarity, ensuring that every participant left the workshop feeling informed and reassured. It was indeed a commendable initiative by The Indian School, undertaken to empower young girls with awareness, confidence, and a positive outlook towards growing up.
